Congress Quirks Team Anna

Lokpal Bill

Lokpal Bill is passed amidst protests. BJP accepts for the discussion that to be carried on December 27th.

You think all went well...not certainly. This bill is not the same one that Team Anna prescribed. And this is not what Team Anna aimed...

  • The Lokpal Bill passed has maintained CBI's independence as of now and quoted Lokpal as a cognizant agent, not an investigative agent for the complaints made by the public.
  • One consideration give to Team Anna's proposal is Group A,B,C,D cadre Govt. employees will come under Lokpal, that too with an exemption that C & D cadre come under Central Vigilance.
  • Lokpal Bill also excempted PM from its clutches in matters of External Affairs, National Security, Atomic Energy as these are sensitive arenas.
  • Lokpal has the famous Indian Quota system also. Five out of Nine members must be SC/ST/OBC/Women/Minorities...

These things we already knew and having in our constitution.  Then what for we need such a new constitutional body like Lokpal? Expenses spent towards this task is a waste.

We are already fed up with these constitutional bodies which are not at all functioning efficiently. Same thing happens in Aadhaar Card initiative also.

Govt. acts in a haste manner without enough feasibility study.

BJP has gained some popularity by supporting this cause. But at last the Govt. wins.

The war was almost over. Our Governance, whether Cong. or BJP, is very popular for passing Bills and resolutions, making Amendments to suppress the agitators/protesters.

Team Anna is going for another fast opposing the proposed bill. That being on December 27th, the same day the tabled bill is put for discussion.

The chosen maidhan for fasting for three days is in Mumbai.
As stats says,

  • Cost of using the maidhan - INR 10,26,000
  • Cost inclusive of Service Tax - INR 11, 31,678
  • Deposit - INR 7,69,500

Some donors are ready to pay it. But this time Anna Hazare wakes up and plays it safe by not accepting. So the Maharashtra Govt. puts a stay for the fast. Anna Hazare decides to fast and prepares to go to prison, where he'll continue his fast....Safest place to fast....

Great drama is going on. We, the people are the witnesses. Does Anna not know the power play of our corrupted Govt.?

  • When Anna first started his fast, the Govt. thought that is just another routine agitation.
  • When it spearheaded by the people, it just showed its power by lifting Anna and others from the ground and jailed them.
  • When the issue went out of hands, it decided to scrutinize the Team Anna members. It beats around the bush cleverly.
  • When they are busy tackling the problems, the Govt. act in a vigorous way to pass the bill of its own. and somehow succeeded.
  • Like filling 'Old Wine in New Bottle', just selling the Bill to us under the brand name 'Anna Hazare'
  • When Team Anna came to their senses, all are over.

Team Anna, now got in the grab of Govt., unable to do anything. If they fast again, the Govt. will make some eyewash amendments in the already tabled bill and passes it as it wishes.

BJP acts and reacts openly in a foolish way. But Congress always play games cunningly. All knew how it acted in 2G scam punishing only its ally and pocketing most of the money silently. They have experience in these matters. They are ruling us from post-independence era. They know the strength and weakness of our people and plays the 'Secularism' trump card intelligently.

In the world's second largest democratic country,
Bills can be passed - But
Corruption cannot be bypassed
Thats the truth...

Posing Anna as another Gandhi wont help us this time. Where is the need for another Gandhi?....Are we slaves to another province?... We are slaves to our own....We are in need of good governance and a better constitution. Not Gandhi this time.

Yesterday I went to a Govt. Office housed inside the Collectorate Complex, Coimbatore for getting a certificate signed. As I wait, the person before me asked the officer-in-charge about the charges for the signature. He said it is Rs. 105. This man gave Rs. 500 and the officer just grabbed it in a second and thrust it in his pocket. No time for me to Click...Who is in fault?

Instead of Bills and Resolutions, the need of the hour is vigorous campaigning for...

  • Changing people's mentality of accepting anything that comes free.
  • Changing people's mentality of thrusting for doing things in a faster way.
  • Give incentives to the employees in Govt. sector who work hard for good governance.

One Night @ The Call Center - A Glimpse

one night @ the call center

By

Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Bhagat, the best selling author of these books - Five Point Someone, 2 States, The 3 Mistakes of My Life And One Night @ The Call Center. He is an internationally proclaimed author and the best-selling English-Language novelist. Good...He pen down this book One Night @ The Call Center.

And this time out of IIT/IIM, his own cocoon or territory. He reasoned it out in the prologue of this book. Believable....In this one he took the call center job and reigns it well.

This book tells the story of six guys, working in a call center, same bay and coincidentally comes in the same pickup vehicle. The author took the avatar of one of the guys, named Shyam and the story is twined through him.

Shyam, being a lack of confidence boy, has just missed and got his girlfriend in a cinematic climax.
Vroom, passionate for cars (original man stuff) than girls, has a niche for journalism fulfilled his desire in the call center itself towards the end of the story.
Esha, who ache for the modelling career, ends up in quitting that aspiration and becomes a NGO (glamorous way of fund raising).
Radhika, married and succumbed to her better half's affair with another one, got out from the family entanglement.
Priyanka, Shyam's once lady love, a confused gal and got her due at the end.
Military Uncle, the senior in the gang, differs with his son & DIL, settled with them at last.
These happy endings of each one has come after that night's phone call from God. Really the story is packed and scripted well.

Shyam always thinks what the girls do for this thing or that thing and not at all thinking about his buddy Vroom's doings. Author brings out this boy thing in quite good way.

Real story-like one is suddenly turns into a fictitious one when God calls the youngsters in phone, what sets everyone's life upright. The author justifies it at the last. Justification is worth and credit goes to Chetan Bhagat. This is where he gets his best selling credits, I think.

The author in his first chapter commented through the character, about the English language command in this book as not highbrow and thus escaped. I had read some of the books written by Indian authors like Aravind Adiga, Shobha De,  Anita Desai...so different in language command. This book fails to catch up. The author may have a view that the call center guys are not well-spoken ones.

Then the effort in expressing the feelings is missing in this book. A novel must elaborate such things. Conversational dialogues which happen between the characters and the one line thoughts or comments  of the main character are put down in words. Not a single emotional feeling is pen down.

All the time Shyam, the main, had thoughts about other characters, their family, parents, GF and BF. Is he wont think about his own for a second after he left his house for work? Ya...he thinks...whom? his girlfriend Priyanka...More ridiculous...

The manager of the call center called Bakshi is shown as a fraudulent one who uses these boys' works as his own. They punish him and teach him a lesson....good...but how comes hitting him in his head with a book....Very Childish....

In the mid of nowhere in the night, one of the characters, Priyanka is love-making/sleeping/romancing with her BF, Shyam in the Qualis. Towards the end of the story, she opts to marry him not because of they slept together, her mother-chosen groom is bald and lied it to her....How Nice....

Altogether this one is a good pass-time story. But not vigorously, without keeping it down. I just put it down as other not-so-important things comes on my way. At one point the book not urged me to continue the reading. Cant believe this is the book which is acknowledged and acclaimed as a best selling novel from our country. Authoring a book is a tough one, I know, but make it irresistible and palatable to the readers is more tough, I think....

I got his new one also - Revolution 2020
Let me read....

Egret - Walk & Peck In Style

Cattle Egret

A conspicuous  species, the Cattle Egret has attracted many common names. These mostly relate to its habit of following cattle and other large animals, and it is known variously as cow crane, cow bird or cow heron, or even elephant bird, rhinoceros egret. In Tamil they are known as unni kokku.

The Cattle Egret nests in colonies, which are often found around bodies of water. The colonies are usually found in woodlands near lakes or rivers, in swamps, or on small inland or coastal islands, and are sometimes shared with other wetland birds. We found plenty of them during this season in the pond near Sundakkamuthur.

Egrets, Herons, Peacocks, Mynahs....so lovely.....I love bird watching
